We Can Handle This Like Gentlemen the Mack
movie-wise, I'll give the nod to Shaft for setting things off, and having a more satisfying climax to the story.. and of class, a private centre is (generally) a less morally ambiguous hero than the pimp or drug dealer..
I bought the shaft trilogy on dvd a while back..
I have The Mack & Superfly on vhs.. I demand to upgrade to dvd..
Goldie (to cop): "I bet yous accept a trouble with women, don't you... in fact, y'all even desire to look like me..."
Olinga (to Goldie): "Say human, don't yous know in order to brand this thing piece of work we got to get rid of the pimps, pushers and the prostitutes, and so offset all over again..."
The Observatory scene is hilarious, I guess John/Goldie must pay off the folks who run information technology to take his girls upwards in at that place..
Oh, and "Jesus Christ" walking into the police force station and asking for a cup of coffee..
I'one thousand disappointed that there wasn't a sequel.. I figured it'd be the Mack in Atlanta (or did he head to Alabama on the bus)..
I'yard surprised that it has not been remade yet.. information technology'due south practically begging Snoop to star (either that or Dolemite)..
I think Ice-T would be a improve fit for Youngblood Priest in a remake of Superfly..
As much every bit I like Sam Jackson, I call up it was an odd fit for Shaft 2000; I would have picked Wesley Snipes, and stayed more than true to the private centre bending rather than making him a bohemian cop..
As far as music, hm.. I don't ain the full soundtracks of any of them.. just on championship/master theme, I'd give Superfly the nod for lyrics, Shaft-theme is a quasi-instrumental, not that it's non classic.. I'll have to go along Itunes/Amazon to get more of the songs..
